Ever since first visited Kenya I fell in love with the culture. The wild life, landscapes and the beautiful beaches.
Malindi town Kenya
When first arrived in
Malindi beach resort I took time to take in some views in the town. Kenya is a place that many people do not think of to go to for a beach holiday but one thing I can advise you is go and see.
The local restaurants
Once you have settled in one of Malindi's
hotels and recovered from you journey to Kenya make sure you go and explore the local area where you will find many inviting bars and restaurants. Many of the restaurants have an Italian style with dishes made using local seafood. It is well worth being adventurous and trying local food dishes you may be surprised at the rich flavour's.
Beach boys go explore
Be sure to include a trip to the reef at low tide but use a local beach boy guide. The reef is clearly visible at low tide but it is important to know when the tide is due to come back in, also the routes to get out to the reef can be tricky so therefor the use of a guide is important to avoid injury's. The beach boys will find or approach you when you walk along the beach or on to the beach it is important to agree a price in advance and this could be per person so barter and make sure all is clear they are friendly.
Local transport and taxi's
You may wish to get from your hotel to the town or other areas using local transport from small busses, TukTuk, motorbike taxis and conventional type taxis like in many places around the world make sure you agree the fare in advance and the end destination, If you have more than one stop make sure you inform the operator at the start as the price will go up a lot more if you do not.
